The David Dewhurst campaign offers a civics lesson on the Texas Legislature and the responsibilities of the lieutenant governor — while showcasing the incumbent’s conservative record in office — in a new web ad released Tuesday. Among the bills passed under Dewhurst’s leadership that ensure Texans have a “bright and prosperous future,” the spot highlights laws requiring valid state identification to vote and drug testing for welfare recipients. Dewhurst faces three challengers in the March Republican primary.
